When? From Sunday, April 25, to Tuesday, April 27, 2021

Where? Trnovo, Ljubljana (terraces between apartment buildings / playgrounds / in front of the old people’s home)

What? We strive for a greater diversity of music genres in Slovenian public music production. Music genres differ from each other by different criteria. And yet music is still ONE, a unique magic with which we awaken mysterious forces in human society. You could even attribute supernatural power to it. Because political or other divisions point to differences or disagreements in society on a daily basis, we prefer to think about what the different music genres have in common. We believe that musical intercultural dialogue can contribute to improving dialogue between all people. What do music genres have in common? Genres do not differ in how much time, knowledge, talent and skill is required to achieve excellence. In music which we don’t know, all the songs sound similar to us. The more we know the genre, the greater richness of diversity we find within each genre.

We expressed our support: Godalkanje Fiddle Gang under the direction of Barja Drnovšek and Bojan Cvetrežnik.

When? Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 6 p.m.

where? Hotel Špica, Laško

You are invited to the final concert of the five-day Godalkanje workshops in Laško which is also the last concert at the 12th Romanica Antiqua Laško Festival.

When? Season ticket 2020/2021

Where? CSK France Prešeren, Karunova 14, Ljubljana

What? We created the concert cycle of urban folk music with strings so that the performances of great violin masters, guest mentors of Godalkanje, can be experienced live in Ljubljana. Slovenia is known in European professional circles for its master classes in various violin styles. We don’t just host mentors; also learning eager professional musicians are brought from afar to be able to attend education according to our standards.

Concert evenings are events that go beyond just listening to a concert, as the official part is usually followed by a jam session, during which it is not difficult to swim into feelings of immortality.

Hard times (pandemic restrictions) did not take away our courage for concert performances, so we are starting with a new form of interconnecting circles of friends, experts and lovers of live acoustic music.

We are very pleased that our Spanish colleagues have recognized our work and invited us to take part in international workshops on a small island on the west coast of Spain as part of the Erasmus + project. Slovenian Fiddle Gang with youngsters will take part in workshops with various mentors from several European countries, and Bojan and Barja will also be mentors for Eastern European music.
