Karoliine-Lisette Kõiv aka Tidi (EST) is a dynamic musician seamlessly blending folk and jazz. She is experienced in a wide variety of styles ranging from Estonian and Nordic traditional music to well-known jazz standards. With a traditional music degree from Heino Eller Tartu Music College and jazz violin studies at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy, Tidi has further expanded her knowledge in different musical cultures by participating in many diverse musical gatherings and projects (EthnoWorld, Fiddlers’ On The Move, Folk Marathon, etc) around the world.

As she keeps finding new ways to express her creativity, music and performing has become Tidi’s essence; already a multi-instrumentalist in her youth with violin and singing, she later embraced guitar, ukulele, piano and percussion to craft a unique musical identity. Her compositions fuse singer-songwriter storytelling with folk rhythm and jazzy harmonies. Tidi’s music is a vessel of stories, as she believes that the soul of every tune or song lies in the emotion and non-verbal message hidden within the music . Her songs and arrangements can be heard in her own ensemble Tidi&bande, folk music duo Compass, world music trio SaJaKa and in an experimental music collective The Weighted Keys.
