Do you play the violin or cello and fancy a fantastic out-of-the-box adventure?

Come and join a special string project! A mix of energetic folk tunes, groovy string parts from 1970s disco, driving beats and compelling vocal lines.

What is the concept?

In a series of workshops, you will learn to create a cool vibe together, work on tight timing through bowing techniques, and there will be opportunities for improvisation. You will discover a new angle from which to further develop your technique and musicality. We will work towards a few small concerts in cool locations, and maybe there will be a chance to perform on a big stage in July 2026.

IN SHORT: 5 workshops and 4 short concerts.

About the teachers:

Bojan and Barja are two Slovenian top violinists who combine lots of fun with improving violin playing. They have been giving workshops for years at the Fiddlers On The Move violin festival (www.fotm.be), which attracts more than 200 violinists every year. Their workshops are always a great success. Many of their students in Slovenia are now successfully working at a professional level.

Bojan and Barja realised a similar project in Slovenia in 2022, involving 40 violinists, which culminated in a performance for a wide audience on the occasion of ECoC heritage (ECoC = European Capital of Culture, realised in collaboration with Narodni dom Maribor).
