Autumn Godalkanje

When? October 10th – November 11th 2017
Where? Nova Gorica Music School
Who can attend? Attendees will join one of the two groups. First Group – Hobby level: thorough understanding of the program for 3rd grade of music school. Second Group – Special level: thorough understanding of the program for 6th grade of music school.
Final concert: November 5th 2017, Festival Hall, Ljubljana

Mentors:

Kate Young (Scotland): Celtic music, various special “chops” techniques, how to accompany vocals on the violin and everything else that Kate has up her sleeve.

Claudia Schwab (Austria): a broad spectre ranging from Austro-Celtic music to far-away India, spiced-up with Claudia’s unmatched approach.

Bojan Cvetrežnik (Slovenia): group workshops for children. Playing by ear, improvisation, how to do away with nervousness, how to accompany melodies on string instruments, pulse of the group etc.

Group workshops are open to all players of string instruments, whether they be students attending primary/secondary music school or the academy, teachers of string instruments themselves or musicians with a degree. Workshops will be organized on two levels and all three mentors will give lessons on both of them.

Za koga? Delo bo potekalo v dveh skupinah. 1.skupina – Hobi nivo: suvereno obvladovanje programa za 3. razred nižje glasbene šole. 2.skupina – Specialni nivo: suvereno obvladovanje programa za 6. razred nižje glasbene šole

Mentorji:

Kate Young (Škotska): keltska glasba, različne specialne tehnike ‘chops’, spremljava vokalov na violini in vse ostalo, kar lahko postreže vsestransko prekaljena Kate

Claudia Schwab (Avstrija): od avstro-keltske glasbe do daljne Indije, začinjeno s Claudijinim avtorskim pristopom.

Bojan Cvetrežnik (Slovenija): skupinsko otroško Godalkanje. Igranje po posluhu, improvizacija, slovo od treme, spremljanje melodij na godala, skupni pulz…

Skupinske delavnice Jesenskega Godalkanja so namenjene vsem godalcem – od učencev nižje/srednje glasbene šole, akademije, učiteljem godal in tistim, ki ste že zaključili glasbeno šolanje. Potekale bodo v dveh nivojih. V obeh nivojih bo možnost dela z vsemi tremi mentorji.

Zaključni koncert – Specialno Godalkanje “Pristop 2Cellos”

Po tem, ko so Godalkarji letos že dvakrat dodobra ogreli Festivalno dvorano s folk glasbo, prihajajo tokrat bolj pop obarvani s slavnim mentorjem, violončelistom Luko Šulićem. Predstavljeni bodo izdelki delavnic “Pristop 2Cellos”. Spet bodo gostovale tudi različne otroške, mladinske in profesionalne zasedbe. Ne zamudite priložnosti za obisk koncerta z družino ali prijatelji vseh starosti!

We have an amazing line up for this year’s summer school, come and join us for a truly inspirational week of learning, recharging your batteries, challenging yourself and meeting some fantastic people – all at a great venue too!

Professional development lies at the heart of the European String Teachers Association and each year the Summer School draws together a world-class faculty of teacher-presenters to share experiences and pedagogic insights into teaching and playing string instruments.

2017 promises an inspiring series of workshops, lectures, demonstrations and concerts. Participants range from young professionals to semi-retired players giving a unique mix of experiences and opportunity for sharing of ideas and knowledge. Informal chamber music groups spring up every evening around suppertime and after the concerts.

The programme retains its ever popular Basics (String Pedagogy) classes which take an in depth view of how we play and teach string instruments. Every year these classes take on their own special life as the presenter and participants change and the class evolves to suit everyone’s interests and needs.

Residential at Chichester University. If you’re local please feel free to commute but if you can, do immerse yourself in the whole experience. It’s amazing what conversations get started at breakfast!
