Ida Meidell Blylod is a Swedish baroque and folk violinist who is passionately interested in the diversity of European violin traditions. Ida’s delicate playing reveals her true ability to make every performance unique, whether she’s playing in a gloomy concert hall, on a lively dance floor, or in a crowded bar. Ida has toured European folk and baroque venues for many years, and is also sought-after as a mentor in international courses in various styles of folk music. She came to Slovenia for the first time in 2011 for the Etnohisteria festival. Since then, she has been returning regularly due to collaborations with the Symbolic Orchestra and Godalkanje. In 2014, she was the soloist of the international project “European Symbolic Orchestra”, with which she also recorded the album “Terrafolk & the European Symbolic Orchestra – XXLive «. She performed with the Slovenian band Ida & the Other Bears. We can watch quite a few recordings of her live performances online, including the ones with Godalkanje. Ida is currently playing in a Swedish folk-baroque project with Johan Hedin, a renowned soloist at the nyckelharp. She regularly collaborates with several baroque orchestras in Sweden, Denmark and France. The concert will consist of Ida’s baroque-folk programme for violin solo, a performance by the Terrafolk duo and a joint performance of all three musicians. Together, they will take us on an energetic and colorful journey through the changing musical landscapes of Northern European folk music.
In case of bad weather, the concert will take place in “Sokolski dom” Škofja Loka.

Ida Meidell Blylod je švedska baročna in folk violinistka, ki jo strastno zanima raznolikost evropskih violinskih tradicij. Idino občutljivo igranje razkriva resnično sposobnost, da vsak nastop naredi edinstven, ne glede na to, ali igra v mračni koncertni dvorani, na živahnem plesišču ali v prenatrpanem baru. Ida je dolga leta gostovala po evropskih ljudskih in baročnih prizoriščih, iskana pa je tudi kot mentorica na mednarodnih tečajih različnih stilov folk glasbe. V Slovenijo jo je leta 2011 prvič pripeljal festival Etnohisteria. Od takrat se zaradi sodelovanj s Simboličnim orkestrom in Godalkanjem redno vrača. Leta 2014 je bila solistka mednarodnega projekta »European Symbolic orchestra«, s katerim je na turneji tudi posnela ploščo »Terrafolk & European Symbolic Orchestra – XXLive«. Koncertirala je s slovensko zasedbo Ida&Other Bears. Na spletu si lahko ogledamo kar nekaj posnetkov njenih nastopov v živo, tudi z zasedbami Godalkanja. Ida trenutno igra v švedskem folk- baročnem projektu z Johanom Hedinom, priznanim solistom na nyckelharpi. Na Švedskem, Danskem in v Franciji redno sodeluje z več baročnimi orkestri. Koncert bo sestavljen iz Idinega baročno-ljudskega programa za violino solo, nastopa Terrafolk dua ter skupnega muziciranja vseh treh glasbenikov. Skupaj nas bodo popeljali na energično in barvito potovanje po spreminjajočih se glasbenih pokrajinah severnoevropske ljudske glasbe.
V primeru slabega vremena bo koncert v Sokolskem domu Škofja Loka.

Four years after leading ‘Upper Strings Basics’ workshops in 2017, Bojan Cvetrežnik was once again invited to give a lecture at the summer camp of the English association of string teachers – ESTA UK. This year’s ‘Daily Menu’ workshops are meant for all string players.

Where? Kamfest Festival, Kamnik
Godalkanje was created right on Kamfest Festival in 2010. After that, violin groups toured in Kamnik again in 2014 and 2020. In all these years, over a hundred young musicians of all ages joined the event, and the repertoire of some has grown into hundreds of traditional tunes from different regions. Sharing music with the audience has always been the main motto of Bojan Cvetrežnik, the founder of Godalkanje. Thus, at this year’s festival, a real acoustic exhibition of musical journeys will take place. It will take you to the worlds of traditional violin sounds of various European regions. The main square in Kamnik will be the spot where we can sit and travel away with the melodies carried by the violin orchestra from seven countries.
Leave your expectations before the checkpoint, otherwise they will be confiscated!
Concerts and music exhibitions ‘Fiddle Gang Jam’ were prepared by international curators who are also mentors of Godalkanje at the ‘Balkan Fiddle Gate‘ seminar, which run in parallel with the Kamfest festival in the Mekinje Monastery.
The events are co-produced by the Kamfest Festival and the Society for ONE Music, and co-financed by the City of Ljubljana.

Godalkanje je nastalo leta 2010 prav na Kamfestu. Po tem so violinske skupine v Kamniku gostovale še leta 2014 in 2020. V vseh teh letih se je godenju pridružilo preko sto mladih godcev vseh starosti in repertoar je pri nekaterih zrasel v stotine tradicionalnih viž iz različnih regij. Deljenje glasbe s publiko je bil vedno glavni moto Bojana Cvetrežnika, ustanovitelja Godalkanja. Tako se bo na letošnjem festivalu zgodila prava akustična razstava glasbenih popotovanj, ki vas bo popeljala v svetove tradicionalnih zvokov violin evropskih regij. Glavni trg v Kamniku bo točka, kjer lahko sedimo in se hkrati teleportiramo v melose, ki jih s sabo nosi orkester violin iz sedmih držav.
Pričakovanja odložite pred kontrolno točko, sicer bodo zaplenjena!
Koncerte in glasbene razstave ‘Fiddle Gang Jam’ so pripravili mednarodni kustosi, ki so hkrati mentorji Godalkanja na seminarju ‘Balkan Fiddle Gate‘. Ta se odvija vzoredno s festivalom Kamfest v Samostanu Mekinje.
Dogodki potekajo v koprodukciji Festivala Kamfest z Društvom za ENO glasbo in jih sofinancira Mestna občina Ljubljana.

What? Live music for all generations
On Fridays, we invite you to unique music events co-created by children and teachers of Godalkanje. Besides violins, we occasionally hear double bass, plucked string instruments, accordion, voice … The tunes from different regions compete with each other, and listeners vote for the winning song. Teams from more than 15 European and American countries will compete whose songs you declare the winners. Sometimes jazz and classical teams also compete. Come, enjoy the acoustic music of violin orchestra, dance, clap or swing to the beat on the swings and vote for the tune you like best! Maybe it will win… Spider Inke will take care of the nice weather – in case of rain, complain to him, while the music will play inside the playroom.

Ob petkih vabimo na edinstvene glasbene dogodke, ki jih soustvarjajo otroci in učitelji Godalkanja. Poleg violin slišimo občasno tudi kontrabas, brenkala, harmoniko, glas…. Viže različnih regij tekmujejo med sabo, poslušalci pa glasujete za zmagovalno skladbo. Ekipe iz več kot 15 evropskih in ameriških držav bodo tekmovale, čigave skladbe boste proglasili za zmagovalne. Včasih tekmujejo tudi ekipe iz jazzije in klasije. Pridite, uživajte v neozvočeni glasbi violinskih orkestrov, zaplešite, zaploskajte ali se v ritmu gugajte na gugalnicah ter glasujte za vižo, ki je vam najbolj všeč! Morda bo prav tista zmagala… Za lepo vreme bo skrbel Pajek Inke – v primeru dežja se pritožite njemu, med tem pa bo glasba odmevala v igralnici noter.
